What a lovely review. I agree about the "completely alien experience" Coldplay offer with the arrival of a new album. "X&Y" was pivotally different from "A Rush of Blood to the Head", and "Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends" seems so far to be completely different to "X&Y" in turn.

I'm in love with "Violet Hill". I haven't been this in love with a Coldplay single since "Clocks", which was rather a long time ago. It seems to me that they're going back to their roots, while injecting something new and interesting to give it an edge. "Viva La Vida" looks very promising. I can't wait for the next single!
